Pre-safari preparation
The Islands of Siankaba have been developed as a luxurious five star lodge, exclusively sleeping just fourteen guests. The two islands are linked by a suspension bridge leading to an overhead walkway in the tree canopy which connects the elevated chalets.
The design and landscaping of all the facilities incorporates the use of natural materials that blend in with the feel of the surrounding bush and takes full advantage of the beauty of the riverine site.
One of the distinctive features of the lodge is how the excellence of its food and wines have developed a reputation for ‘haute-cuisine in the bush’ to compliment its first class service.
Whether looking for a relaxing post safari treat or in search of one of the many adrenalin buzz adventures available in the area, guests’ needs will be surpassed by the lodge’s uncompromising levels of service and hospitality.
At Siankaba you can go on guided birding and tree walks on the main island’s nature trail, looking for among others the African Finfoot, Pels Fishing Owl, Pygmy Kingfisher, Rock Pratincole and White Backed-Night Heron.
There are guided fishing trips for the elusive Zambezi Tiger Fish between 1st March and 31st Nov every year.
Cultural Village Walks are a fantastic way to experience real Zambian culture and hospitality within a rural way of life. This trip includes a tour of the lodges' local sponsorship school.
And for those looking for a little pampering, there is a masseuse available in-house to guests, providing massages, facials, pedicures, and manicures.
Guests can enjoy a river cruise with a cool sundowner on board whilst viewing a magnificent African sunset, and dugout canoe trips around the Islands with your own private paddler/guide are a placid way to explore the waterways.
