Situated on an established sand ridge overlooking Tau Pan in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the camp commands stunning views of the permanent Tau Pan water hole and the endless Kalahari horizon. Accommodation is comprised of nine custom-built, environmentally adapted desert rooms under thatch, while the main area consists of dining room, lounge area and a viewing deck. The camp also offers a swimming pool, an interpretation centre, library and a curio shop.
Tau Pan has been constructed with the delicate ecologies in mind utilising only solar power for the generation of electricity, heating of water and pumping of water from deep under the Kalahari sands. Waste water is treated in a state-of-the-art sewerage treatment plant and the fully treated water is returned to the sands from whence it came.
Activities offered at Tau Pan are game drives, day trips to the well-known Deception Valley, star gazing, bush brunches, and nature walks with Bushman trackers.
